The Future of Solar-Powered Homes/Times Tech
The decathlon of solar powered homes was a competition held in Washington DC with college students presenting their solar powered homes. The results were amazing or note the beauty in the architecture, the high end technology and features, the amount of solar power produced and the use of recycled materials in building supplies and furniture. Of note was the German exhibit was off the charts. The reporter noted that in Germany there are several incentives for solar power including the electric company will buy back any excess power produces. In the USA this is unheard of with very few incentives for solar use. This is something that is needed here, rebates and incentive to switch to solar energy.Make it more affordable and economically feasible for consumers. This would ultimately benefit the environment.

I agree. The United States needs to be more aggressive in encouraging this type of research and development. May be there has been Universities doing that sort of thing here, but we haven't heard about it? Interesting post.
