Earnings Soar at Nokia on Third World Demand NY TImes Tech
Interesting to note that in third world countries, the purchase and usage of cell phones are soaring. Nokia was smart enough to anticipate this demand and tap in on this emerging consumer group and tap the profits. Nokia produces inexpensive, simple cell phones and corner the market on this low end phone. With all the focus on high end phones with the most advanced up date technology in this country, it takes vision to think out of the box and be able to provide these much need devices.I wonder if this is also the trend in low end computers. Maybe a good stock investment.
